Join Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Monterey as we celebrate at Mission San Carlos Borroméo del río Carmelo's Orchard House a private Adobe built in 1774 rarely seen by the public. Dine alfresco indulging in a multi-course menu for foodies featuring Native-American and Spanish cuisine created by Chef Vince Guasch of PSRT & eHow food expert Darlene Tenes of CasaQ.

About Carmel Mission Basilica's Orchard House

Built in 1774 the Orchard House was returned to the Carmel Mission Basilica in October 2011, officially known as the Orchardist’s Adobe, is the oldest residential dwelling in California Since the 1920s the Orchard House has been a privately owned residence not open to the public. Together with the Basilica, this is the only other historic building remaining from the mission period. The Mission was originally established at the presidio in Monterey in 1770 then was relocated to Carmel, the seventh and current mission was completed and dedicated in 1797.
